Then again it’s not always best to change certain elements… MSRP on the “limited edition models” should be ~$1600-2000 (e-lite included).

To go along with the e-lite, Elos made the e-power. Looking at the individual units I am liking them. Simple aluminum round pendent…. The parabolic half-sphere shape blends form and function. Job well done.

But then they went ahead and added something else, The Bracket… The Bracket that reminds me of a die-cast Star Wars model my neighbor Timmy had when I was growing up. While I do like the fact is has a place for a supplemental LED e-lite, we are really not digging the entire unit. In this case the individual parts are much greater than the sum, or should we say space ship?



Joking aside, we must give Elos much credit for creating a modular lighting system; especially one that integrates directable Metal Halide pendents and LEDs. If it can perform, it is still a much more attractive option than others currently available.

They also showed the new and improved Zeomatic. For those of you that remember we previously posted about this auto-reactor;Here’s a video of it in action.

Still no word on some of the newer supplements (Sorry L) But we have images of their display at InterZoo and their new Blue line skimmers and foods.











Am Stand der Eheim Gruppe
Normal geht man ja gerne an den bekannten großen vorbei. Denn bisher war der Meerwasserkunde da nicht ganz so im Fokus. Das hat sich scheinbar geändert, was uns auch freut. Wettbewerb ist immer gut.




Eheim hatte auch ein schickes Meerwasserbecken am Stand. natürlich wollten wir mehr wissen und konnten gleich drei der Mitarbeiter des Ablegers M+P zu einem Interview begrüßen. Der Video ist recht gut vom Ton her, den sollten Sie sich in jedem Fall ansehen.Darin erfahren Sie alles zu dem neuen 270 Liter fassenden System, aber auch ein wenig mehr über die Meerwasserkonzepte von Eheim die wir gerne auch nachfolgend beschreiben:







Auch macht man sich bei Eheim Gedanken um den interessierten Süsswasseraquarianern den Umstieg so einfach wie möglich zu machen. Das neue Konzept folgt:

Next up is the 7096 Multicontroller. It will be about $100 less than the current 7095 controller and via USB allows separate control of each pump and over the food timer. This nice compact unit can also control waveboxes…which might become much more prevalent with the release of their Nano-Wavebox…



The Nano-Wavebox is designed for tanks between 30-150 gallons. It measures in at L 4.9 x W 2.1 x H 8.6in. Not bad at all if performs anywhere near the larger model. Here’a shot of it in action at InterZoo. Note the Aqua Wind Fans mounted on the left side of the tank.



To go along with the Master DOC Skimmer line, Tunze has created the NW powered 9410. Electric consumption is only 16w, but no reports yet on air draw. Tunze is crediting a Neodymium drive unit for the low electric consumption. Two pump sizes will be available and MSRP is reported to be less than $450 for this plug and play unit. Both this model and the Master DOC skimmer will now come with 50um filter socks as you see pictured.





Skim 1200. This Compact recirculating NW injects 450 lph and features a patented Foam View Collection cup and a self cleaning neck. With a simple lever action the skimmer can be cleaned.





Red Sea’s lighting division, Arcadia, featured their new T5 powered OT2 Luminaire





Eco was there showing their new Eco Mini all in one nano’s and matching Metal Halide pendant. They also had their Osci-Motion on display (which was introduced last show)…perhaps it will be available soon?







Not to be left behind in the all in one nano craze, Sera showed the Precision Biotop Cubes.



The Coral Shop had this creative design; a Zero-Edge style aquarium within a shallow rimless.



Tropical Live showed this LED fixture…still waiting on more info, but 36w and 120-140 lumens per watt is not bad.

Touted as an economical standalone or supplement these small little LED bar’s consume only 12w each and are said to add shimmer to non point source lights such as T5’s. They will be offered in a variety of Kelvin’s allowing users to pick which color temperature and spectrum will benefit their tank most.







Also shown was their new Nano V Skim Protein Skimmer. Rated up to 31 gallons, this compact skimmer was made to completely come apart via its hinged design for easy cleaning. Perhaps the square design will allow it to fit in “nano-cube” type reefs?



Check out these new “V2 React” calcium reactors, regulators and Co2 cylinders. We love the smaller cylinder’s brushed aluminum body and polished regulator.

Blau Aquaristic

We have seen Blau mentioned on other boards for their skimmers (Re-Badge Octo’s) but we were surprised by their slime Lumina T5s and overall display. Perhaps they took some lines from ATI and others, but it’s nice to see other options. Check out their little freshwater planter rimless aquarium!

Aquaroche’s natural structure is very similar to live rock allowing rapid colonization of beneficial bacteria; with time it becomes indistinguishable from live rock. It is also lightweight making it easier to work with when creating your aquascape.

At InterZoo 2008, Aquaroche showed some new pieces to expand their current line. Most notably their Reef Plates. These make great ledges for display corals and can also be used with other rock types to create dramatic aquascapes. Many of you know how difficult it can be to find those perfect ledge and table live rock pieces.

We do not recommend many type of wall decorations, but if you’re considering a wall type background-aquascape stay away from the foam! Not only does it not look good, but it is extremely buoyant and degrades with UV exposure. Aquaroche offers much better looking wall plates that can solve this problem. Below is a beautiful custom job from Aquarium Specialty.

Korallen Zucht

The makers of ZeoVit, have come out with a new equipment line. The KZ revolution protein skimmer has been out, but in addition to the in sump models they have created a hang on the back (HOB) protein skimmer; likely to compete with ATBs HOB model. This image was grabbed from their new 2008-2009 brochure.



We really do not like the neon orange acrylic, but it seems like Pohl is sticking with it. Users say they do work well, and in the end that’s what matters most. Here’s an image Klaus took for Korallenriff.de showing the KZ Display.



As you see in the above photo, KZ has also come out with their own ZeoVit reactor.

Aqua Medic showed off their new Blue 1000 and Blue 3000 skimmers and corresponding filters. Taking note from the DIY Reefer’s choice- Enkamat mesh, they have flattened it between a Needlewheel washer. Aqua Medic also showed their new Blue Reef Sump filtration system. Take a look at the smallest models “diffuser”. It looks to be a simple intake screen, we had never considered this… it may be something worthwhile to try on internal pump skimmers such as the Deltec MCE 600 to reduce turbulence. And here they are in “action”, plugged and recirculating for show. The sloped neck looks very gentle.



This French company has been around for sometime, but as usual we don’t get any of their products in the States. Check out these pumps… they look awfully similar to the Tunze Master Electronic Pumps.

Ihr neues Design Stream 2

Akvarij v kateremu se uporablja Miracle MUD, katerega se uporablja kot primarna filtracija.



Ja korallen-zucht ponovno vsaj iz strani akvaristike najbolj oblegan prostor na sejmu. Kaj naj rečem vsaj vsi vemo kako Thomasove korale izgledajo. Naj ob tem povem, da sem Girza spoznal vendar do njega nismo šli, ker se seli in dela nov akvarij sicer ne večjega samo oblika bo drugačna ali enaka kot Thomasov akvarij v trgovini torej kocka. Zakaj menja akvarij ker ima vsega preveč in nima prostora za po njegovem, kaj novega .







Žal slik novega zeolit reaktorja ni ker ni bilo dovoljeno kaj dosti slikanja. Mislim da slike povejo dovolj. Bil sem tudi v Coborgu slik ni oz. so samo niso najlepše, ker je bil akvarij vsaj tisti zanimanja in občudovanja vreden preveč moten. Mislim Thomas ni imel časa počistiti stekla.



Školjke Tridacne
To je samo kaplja v morje v številu vseh, ki so bile na sejmu. Ogromno jih je bilo tako, da be vem zakaj tak problem pri nabavi le njih.



Ta akvarij je bil na prostoru Schuran-a.

Zelo veliko oz. nisem videl skoraj nobenega sistema brez filtrirne nogavice. Iz lastnih iskušenj lahko povem, da je uporaba le te zelo dobra.

No na koncu pa vsaj za mene vrhunec včerajšnjega dne pogovor z Julian Sprung-om. Dobil sem tudi njegovo zadnjo knjigo s posvetilom.
